Project Specifications and Overall Objective:

The objective of this civil project was to implement the Southern Transmission Line B in Rasht City (Line B) with diameters of 250 and 315 millimeters, with lengths of 426 and 800 meters, respectively, made of double-walled polyethylene sewage pipes, and a 500-millimeter diameter fiberglass (GRP) sewage pipe with a length of 1,484 meters. The project also included procurement of pipes, installation of 43 manholes, demolition and reconstruction of traditional sewage systems, road paving and asphalt work along the pipeline route, and setting up a workshop. The project location was in the southern part of Rasht city. Given the above explanations, the main operations carried out in the implementation of the mentioned facilities are as follows:

• Procurement and transportation of the required pipes for the project to the construction site
• Performing supplementary surveying operations and pedestrian route planning
• Demolition of asphalt and trench excavation according to executive drawings and technical specifications
• Demolition of the traditional sewage channel
• Soil protection around the trench and pumping infiltrated water into the trench
• Transporting suitable soil to the project site according to the supervisor’s instructions and transporting excess and disturbing soil
• Installation of double-walled polyethylene sewage pipes and fiberglass (GRP) pipes
• Bedding and construction of in-situ and pre-fabricated concrete manholes
• Reconstruction of the traditional sewage channel
• Backfilling, compaction, and other miscellaneous works
• Repairing the excavation strip and asphalt paving along the wastewater pipeline route
• Performing video metering operations
